Cool Website :)

June 6, 2009

Today I got a new phone – well okay, new TO ME, but still – technicalities…

Anyway WOOOHOOOO!!!! I got a new toy! It’s an HTC Mogul 6800, essentially a little computer. It has windows mobile, most of the Office suite, and a whole bunch of other cool shit! We also transferred Hunny’s stuff to my old (if you can call something that is 2 months old "old"..)phone, which is a Motorola Renegade – really not anything to shake a stick at itself 🙂

So, new phone means needs personalization – wallpapers, ringtones, pictures, etc. Which leads me to the reason for this post…as I was cruising the Sprint (yeah I know, but I’m trapped for another year…) website looking for new stuffs, I started to get disgusted. $5.99 for a "theme" – essentially 3 screens. $2.99 for a ringtone. And on top of that, adding insult to injury, they’re censored…I can understand OFFERING censored ringtones, I’m not stoopid, I know a lot of kids have cell phones, and not all music is appropriate for all kids, but censored as the only option..? That sucks. They do have some decent themes – and yes, I broke down and bought ONE. I’d have bought several at $2 a piece…Hell, I’d probably have spent more than I did, but at 6 bucks a piece, I am limiting myself to one. Here’s the winner… Sun & Moon Tattoo Theme.

But I didn’t boot up the old Windows Live Writer to brag (is it bragging when your just sharing your excitement..?) about my new phone. Once I was thoroughly disgusted with the pricing, I thought "Why can’t I just MAKE myself some ringtones..?"

"Because, while you aren’t really technologically challenged, you have no idea how to do it…" was the obvious answer. So, I told the answering party to shut the Hell up and did a Google search on making ringtones – surely there were instructions somewhere on the big. bad web. I have audio players, it can’t be that hard, right..?

Well my friends, lemme tell ya. It is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY easier than I ever imagined! Simply click on Make Ringtones, upload a music file -any music file – from your computer, put the little arrow marker thingys where you want the ringtone to start & end, and click on "Make A Ringtone" Then you download it to your computer & transfer it to the ringtone folder on the phone. How easy is that..?

I am aware I am sometimes woefully behind on things, so if you already were aware of this, or a similar, site all I have to say is WHY DIDN’T YOU SHARE….???? Pffffffffffffffftttttttttttttttt!!!!!

****Grin****

OK, I’ve shared, now I’m gonna go make me some more – uncensored – ringtones 🙂

See ya laterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

My Christmas Post *grin* (only 4 days later…)

December 29, 2008

Well, Christmas has been and gone. I think it was a success here in Camby, IN. The boy cleaned up on gifts, even though he wasn’t the epitome of good. Matter-of-fact, he wasn’t even really close…but such is life with a six year old 🙂
I love Christmas! It’s my favorite time of year. I mean c’mon, my blog has a Christmas theme all year long – when it co-operates…But it’s over too soon. Not two days after, people are taking down decorations like they can’t wait to get on to the next big thing…*sigh* such a let down. You get this three month build-up, inundated with Christmassy stuffs,  then BOOM day after,  there’s Valentine’s Day stuff in the stores. . .Hell, I saw it in some stores even before Christmas. . .

Anyways, here’s some pics of our Christmas. . . mantlemilk Here’s the boy checking on the milk & cookies left for Santa

And let’s not forget the “Demon Digger” aka remote controlled Grave Digger monster truck…”Why do you call it “Demon Digger”? you ask. “I’m getting there!” I say. This was ostensibly the boy’s present, but (of course) Dad had to “try it out” first…and the poor cats were his unwilling victims>>

If you look really close, you’ll see Hunny at the controls – the Demon Digger is coming out from under the coffee table at this point.

Can you see him? Hiding under the table, as the Demon Digger approaches in a full out frontal assault..?

The only black spot on an otherwise wonderful holiday was the IM I found waiting for me on my computer when I got back from the in-laws and finished getting everything ready (for the folks who ended up unable to make it). That message was from my best friend D. My younger than me, stay at home mom best friend. We had made plans for Shayne & I to go over to her house Tuesday, when I’m off. My boy LOVES her house :). The message said

We’re going to have to cancel Tuesday’s play date. I had a heart attack last night & I’m in the hospital…etc., etc., etc.”

Needless to say, at 6:30 Christmas Day night I was flying to the hospital. Turns out she actually had several heart attacks, and had a stent inserted in her heart. She’s home now, but still….

Okay, I’m pretty much outta time, gotta go get ready for work – nose to the grindstone and all 🙂 All in all, we had a good Christmas. I have more pics – will I get them up on here..? That’s a big, definite MAYBE…I hope all of you (all three regular readers *grin* and any first time visitors as well) had as good a holiday as we did. (Minus the whole best-friend-having-a-heart-attack thing)

See ya laterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! ! ! !

New Toy!

May 3, 2008

Well, I am now the proud co-owner (I think I might have about 10% – hunny has claimed the other 90%…lol) of a Logitech® Harmony® One universal remote control. And can I just say THIS THING ROCKS! And I got it for free! Well, at no monetary cost (no I didn’t steal it…) You see, somewhere between two weeks and a month ago, I was reading a forum on Hey It’s Free! ( I can’t find the forum entry again, or I’d link it, too) and came across a post about BzzAgent which is this really cool site where you sign up, and you participate in ‘campaigns.’ What does that mean? Well, they send you a product, either free or at DEEP discount, you use it, and then you spread the word about it to friends & family,

So, I got this super cool remote. For years we’ve been fighting to keep all the remote controls, for all of our shit, in one general area. Not very successful, no we weren’t. I have found remotes in couches, chairs, bathtubs, (don’t ask) automobiles, beds, and boxes. I have bought I don’t know how many cute little bags (one of which looked like Wile E. Coyote, who is my hunny’s fav cartoon). I have bought little box things that were supposed to keep ’em all in one place, it just wasn’t happening.

Then today, I received this, this, this…gift from the Goddess! Before tonight, we had four remotes in the living room, four in the bedroom, and three more in our boy’s room…that’s 11 remote controls 11. Two of the ones in the living room were “universal’ remotes…yeah, whatever. The ones that would work more than one piece of equipment, still didn’t do all the functions of whatever you were trying to operate. For example, our cable remote would turn on the TV, the cable box, and the surround. It would change cable channels. But it wouldn’t operate the sound features of the surround…we had to use the original remote to turn it up or down. Another good example is that it would turn on the TV, but if we wanted to watch a DVD, we had to use the TV’s remote to change the input on the TV, the DVD remote to turn on the DVD player and operate it, and the surround remote to change mode to DVD and adjust volume.

But NEVER AGAIN! It took me all of about 30 minutes (most of which was loading the software onto my puter) to set up this remote using a step-by-step walk through in the software, and it does ALL OF IT! It operate all of the devices, and all of the functions of all of the devices. Quite frankly, I think my hunny had a few moments of ecstasy there…really. This is the coolest remote I’ve ever seen. It has a touchscreen! I am not getting any compensation for this, I just think this remote ROCKS! and I think everyone with more than just a TV should have one.

Oh yeah, did I mention IT DOESN”T USE BATTERIES? It comes with a charging base, and a battery that looks a lot like a video camera battery, How cool it that..?

Here is the super-cool, fantastic, awesome, wonderful, fantabulous, amazing Harmony One;

I think I can actually set it up to operate EVERY piece of home entertainment equipment we own – all 4 TVs, PS2, 3 DVD players…ALL OF IT, and I’m going to try. But not tonight…Tonight I hear my bed calling, and I am preparing to answer…

See ya laterzzzz!

Hmmmmmmm…

April 8, 2008

Well, alrighty then…I love computer toys…looky I got pretty letters & pretty words! Hee-hee (yes I know, I am easily amused…what’s you’re point..?)

I have today off, Okay, that’s not really accurate, today I get to work for no pay…that’s better…no wait, not exactly right either, ‘cuz I get paid in hugs & kisses & "Mommy…guess what?  What?  I love you!" all day long. I have to do laundry, go to the grocery store, unload/reload the dishwasher, probably should vacuum, and keep one very busy 5 year old occupied…and this is actually a rather slow "day off". I also had a doctor’s appointment to do an Ansar Test (woohoo! Looky there…I did a link thingy that clicks to address without showing the address! ! ! Yes, I know, again with the easily amused…) to try to determine what’s causing the pain I’ve been having. Not just pain, but mobile pain…one day in my hips, one day in my calves, one day in my shoulders, etc. Kinda frustrating, but oh well, life goes on.

I canceled my Dr appt…actually rescheduled, cuz I really don’t feel well, sniffly & sneezy & coughy, and don’t want to drive all the way up there with the boy in tow…huh, the only person on the planet that cancels a Dr appt because they’re sick…

So me & my boy are going to spend the day together. He’s eating his breakfast PB&J and watching Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitty’s (or something like that) while I type away. I get ten minutes of no questions. Doesn’t happen often…the boy has a question for everything! I know, I know, this is a good thing, but sheesh! sometimes he makes my brain hurt coming up with answers. ‘Cuz they hafta be the right ones…the child retains EVERYTHING..he doesn’t always access it at the proper times, but it’s there…and if he has asked before you better By God give the same answer.

Example: HE was four years old, and because he was four "4" was HIS number (he’s fascinated with numbers…). So, I come in from work at about 8:30ish, kiss the boy, drop the mail on the counter, and head into the front room to give my hunny a kiss. From the kitchen I hear "Look Mom, a four!" Apparently one of the envelopes had a four on it, and he spotted it. I headed back towards the kitchen and said

"What honey?"

He said "Look Mommy, a four…that’s how old I am!"

Now bear in mind I had just spent 8 hours listening to the yahoo clientele of (da da dum) The Cable Company, and I was tired both physically and mentally. I walked toward the closet to hang up my coat, and the boy started towards the front room. Over my shoulder I threw "Yeah baby, it’s a 4, that’s how old you am"

He stopped, turned back to me, and in his best teacher voice said "Are, Mom" and proceeded to go into the other room. I picked my jaw up off the floor and thought "Huh, I just had my grammar corrected…by a four year old". His teachers will have their hands full, I’m telling ya, and by Goddess, if he gets in trouble for correcting one of them, and he’s right, well, let’s just say there’ll be scrapping goin on!

So you see…it’s all THERE! Don’t change the answer, cuz he’ll know, and that will start a whole new barrage of questions…my poor tired brain…

OK, enough for now…I’m off to try to get everything accomplished before zero hour (you know, when Daddy gets home, and all "accomplishing" stops…) Have a great day y’all, and I may be back later 🙂

Huh…

April 4, 2008

Well, I’ve done it…I created a blog…*looking around* now what do I do..?
